Pre-Trip Prep
What a whirlwind week! Packing, packing and more packing. After all that pre-work, the movers we hired were able to get all our household possessions (with the exception of what we stuffed into 2 roller bags and 2 backpacks) into a 10' x 20' storage space.
We're going to miss our Admiral's Cove home. We said goodbye to the view from our bedroom window across the estuary to the port of Oakland, where ginormous container ships periodically do twelve-point turns behind the soccer field and rows of warehouses store coffee and tea and other goods that arrive here from all over the world.
We said goodbye to the daily walk we took with Dany the dog past the playing fields and warehouses and the round green field where she waited expectantly to do zoomies every afternoon. (Don't worry, Dany is currently at college in Massachusetts where she does east coast zoomies.) And we said goodbye to the rooms we lived in, over the past three years, with five kids and two dogs.
